The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter (ARC Received from Net Galley)

Target Audience: Teens/Young Adults
Genre: Fantasy/Romance

The Goddess Test (Goddess Test, #1)Wow! If I were to sum this book up in one word, the word WOW would be it. I know I've  found a good book when I reach the end and number one; I wish it wasn't ending and number two; I never saw that ending coming.
Before I go into a long-winded babble I'll give a bit of a brief summary of the plot, for those who are wondering.

Kate Winters is a High-School student who moves to the small town of Eden after her mother is told she is dying of cancer. Kate isn't there long when she finds herself the victim of a prank and as a result ends up making a deal with a mysterious boy named Henry who claims he is the Lord of the Underworld.
Given the option to prolong her mother's life, Kate agrees to stay with Henry for 6 months and be tested. If she passes she will become immortal, if she fails, well I'm not even going to go into that on here...you can read it for yourself :-)

Anyway now that my summary is out of the way I can honestly say that I haven't read such a well written and flawless book in ages!  Most books will have at least one or two plot holes that will drive you nuts, but this one didn't seem to have any.
Every little detail, the plot, the characters, when events were mentioned, when truths were revealed, they all happened at the right place and time to make this a truly magical and surprising story.
There wasn't any way to guess the ending and some of the things that were unveiled as the novel progressed made my jaw drop in shock.

The characters were so realistic I could almost imagine them in the room with me. Kate was such a likable and honest character that no matter what she did it was impossible to do anything but really feel for her cheer her on and her relationship with Henry was one of the most beautifully told I have ever read, and I have read a lot of romances.  The other characters were also equally important, in fact there isn't a way that the story could have continued right to the end without them, it simply could have fallen apart and you'll see why if you follow my advice and read this.

As for the ending, well don't get me started. I never could have seen it coming in a million years. I loved it, in more ways than one and yet I still can't wait until the next in the series.  I just want to know what happens next and I am now impatiently awaiting it's release. I don't usually beg, but please release it soon!
Anyway, Amazing, simply amazing!
